PRODUCT SUITE CONTINUES EVOLUTION WITH CRITICAL ANALYSIS AND REPORTING CAPABILITIES
New LOOP-PRO Technologies Transform Process Data into Actionable Information

TOLLAND, CT – May 17, 2005 – Control Station today announced the latest release of the company’s LOOP-PRO Product Suite. The Version 4.1 solutions include enhanced process control monitoring, analysis and reporting capabilities specifically engineered to improve bottom-line plant profitability. LOOP-PRO solutions help customers eliminate costs associated with production defects and process shut-down by providing early identification of negative process trends.

“Anticipating process control challenges and providing for their rapid diagnosis are critical capabilities for today’s process control staff,” stated Doug Cooper, Control Station’s Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “With the addition of performance measurement and reporting capabilities, our LOOP-PRO software equips engineering staff with the information they need to achieve those goals and thereby minimize production downtime. In essence, LOOP-PRO 4.1 is profitability software.”

The LOOP-PRO Product Suite includes modules for the modeling, tuning, and simulation of complex process control systems as well as a module for the real-time collection, analysis, and reporting of business-critical process data. Developed with the support of select Control Station customers, LOOP-PRO provides an array of industrially-relevant software solutions.

Clearing the way for these new capabilities is OPC Inbox. LOOP-PRO OPC Inbox enables real-time access to and analysis of process controller data, and it provides reporting features for performance documentation. Compliant with OPC 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 standards, OPC Inbox can be implemented in minutes and used to collect data at speeds as fast as one hundred milliseconds. Templates are easily developed and allow users to recall individual controllers or groups of controllers for data collection and analysis. OPC Inbox includes performance measurement options such as standard statistics and graphic meters that depict performance compared to user-defined benchmarks.

“The software’s core capabilities were developed and refined over a period of twelve years,” commented Dennis Nash, Control Station President. “With that foundation firmly in place, we’ve accelerated the deployment of new features and are meeting the growing demands of today’s process control professionals. Our focus is on adding value to our solutions and increasing the competitiveness of our customers.”

Other enhancements to the LOOP-PRO Product Suite include the addition of a statistical loop report and a preconfigured PID controller selection form. By launching the statistical loop report, users gain immediate access to a comprehensive report of controller data in both numerical and graphical formats. The data can be used to identify important loop performance characteristics, such as the error distribution and variable travel. Using the controller selection form, users obtain PID tuning parameters that are customized to their PLC or DCS system.

ENGINEER and DEVELOPER are among other core LOOP-PRO product offerings. ENGINEER equips process control staff with the tools needed to quickly and consistently identify optimal model and controller tuning parameters. DEVELOPER expands upon those core modeling and tuning capabilities with the inclusion of tools for custom simulation, including pre-formatted simulations for cascaded control architectures. OPC Inbox is an optional software module for both the ENGINEER and DEVELOPER products.
