FUNDING OF CONTROL STATION TO FUEL GROWTH AND ACCELERATE PRODUCT INNOVATION
High energy costs enhance technology's value across process industries

Tolland, CT – September 16, 2004 – Control Station, Inc. announced today that it has received proceeds from a private equity investment made by Kevin Bouley of Nerac.com. The funds will accelerate Control Station's growth plan and fuel additional product innovation, further strengthening the Company's portfolio of automatic process control solutions.

The financing validates both Control Station's core technology and its plans for market expansion. With rising energy costs, the value of controlling a manufacturing plant's processes becomes increasingly significant across the process industries. According to Action Energy, regular re-tuning and maintenance of process controllers can reduce production costs by as much as 15 percent. Such cost reductions are typically accompanied by improved product quality and increased output, strengthening the value proposition of Control Station's process control solutions.

Douglas Cooper, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Control Station and Department Head of the University of Connecticut 's School of Chemical Engineering , commented “Even incremental improvements to production – 1 or 2 percent – can have a profound effect on a company's profitability. With these funds, we will be able to expand our portfolio of solutions and help our customers to achieve a sustainable advantage in production.”

“My investment is aimed at leveraging resources located here in the greater Tolland area and accelerating the success of a company whose technology delivers immediate, bottom-line value,” said Mr. Bouley. “Control Station can deliver a positive return on investment with the tuning of just three primary control loops. Most production facilities in the United States have hundreds of controllers, offering significant cost savings and a distinct competitive advantage.” Like Control Station, Nerac.com is the product of the University of Connecticut 's R&D community.

Control Station's automatic process control software is used in a variety of applications associated with batch and continuous manufacturing processes. At most manufacturing plants, controllers are grouped and used to monitor heat, pressure, flow rate, among other production characteristics. If any characteristic falls outside a pre-set range, controllers signal adjustments to system valves and correct the process. With its data analysis tools, Control Station software enables process technicians and engineers to easily identify optimal controller settings and to implement ideal response models that minimize energy consumption.

The Company is scheduled to release its Version 4.0 Product Suite later this month. The Version 4.0 Product Suite includes new custom process simulation and OLE for Process Control (OPC) capabilities. Version 4.0 products blend technical sophistication with ease-of-use, the hallmarks of all Control Station solutions. The new software will debut at ISA EXPO in Houston , Texas as part of a nationwide marketing campaign and corporate growth strategy.
