Partners With Expertise
Our approach is to partner with you as we
work together toward improved process
control performance and increased plant profitability.
Control Station’s Solutions Engineers instruct as they work
alongside your staff, optimizing process control today while
empowering your staff to tackle similar challenges in the
future.
Through onsite collaboration, Control Station
maximizes the long-term return on your existing control
investments in process equipment and instrumentation,
computers and software, and experienced and trained
personnel.
Control Station is staffed by a team of
process control professionals. Each Solutions Engineer is
expert in the application of industry best practices and
proven methods. From PID controller design and tuning for
optimal operation to process control strategy design,
implementation, and troubleshooting, our Solutions Engineers
combine a strong foundation of theoretical training with
practical industry experience.
Customized to Your Needs
Each project is different, so it must be customized to the
needs of your company and the challenges at hand. To
illustrate our approach, a generic engagement might have our
Solutions Engineer(s) work alongside your staff to:
Assess
◊ Review current process control implementations relative to
your plant’s control objectives.
◊ Establish a pre-approved, prioritized checklist of
projects designed to – for example – maintain product
quality, maximize production rates, minimize energy
consumption, or reduce production-related waste and
environmental impact.
Plan
◊ Explore alternative control strategies, loop designs, and
tuning parameters.
◊ Recommend modifications to existing control
configurations, including the retuning of critical control
loops and recoding of controller logic.
Implement
◊ “Teach while we do” our proven methods for achieving
optimum performance.
◊ Collect and analyze process data to evaluate current PID
performance.
◊ Simulate and demonstrate the performance of recommended
control modifications.
◊ Apply Control Station’s proprietary PID control
technologies and design methodology.
Your Role
To achieve the desired results in
a cost effective fashion, it is essential that the team
include an operations and/or engineering employee from your
company who possess both knowledge of the existing control
environment and responsibility for maintaining the PLC or
DCS. We also may need access to maintenance staff capable of assisting with the
inspection and/or repair of process equipment. Finally, the
team must have access to appropriate information maintained within your
plant’s data historian or the ability to collect data via OPC or local wire termination panels.
