PlantESP User Interface

Thin Client (Web Browser) Interface Delivers Optimization Power Anywhere and Anytime

Users benefit from a very dynamic, Web based interface. PlantESP leverages the latest Microsoft Silverlight technologies to bring users a high performance, dynamic and flexible user interface for both system configuration, and monitoring and maintenance.

The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is designed to be easily understood and intuitive. Standard and customizable performance gages and meters deliver current performance data quickly and clearly.

Plant Overview Display

PlantESPPlantAndUnitSummary.jpg

PlantESP provides an aggregated overview of your entire operation, giving you an instant view of Control Performance and will trend performance over time.  This is your highest level view, and shows you performance by plant area, and specific alerts (left pane) on areas of concern.

PID Loop Summary Display

Drilling into a plant area will list all the controllers in that area, along with high level performance metrics.  These are user configured screens that are easily customized.

PID Control Loop Performance Metrics Display

The PID Loop Performance display shows the quality of a specific PID Loop and introduces a detailed  view of various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs listed below)

PID Loop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

GageAverageAbsoluteError.jpg

How Accurately is your PID Controlling?

Determine the deviation of a Process Variable (PV) relative to its Set Point (SP), thereby revealing shifts in performance over time

GageOutputTravel.jpg

How much is your control changing?

Measure the movement of each control loop in terms of Full-Strokes Per Day as an early warning of performance degradation

GageOutputDistribution.jpg

Where is your Control Concentrated?

Detect whether valves have been either completely open or completely closed for extensive periods of time while operating in closed loop, thereby indicating issues related to a control loop's design

GageTimeInNormal.jpg

What Mode is your PID Loop in?

Track the percent of time that a control loop is operated in "Normal" mode (e.g. Automatic, Manual, Cascaded, other) as opposed to other non-standard modes of operation

GageControllerSpeed.jpg

Is your PID Loop strategy working?

Identify control loops that are tuned either too aggressive or too conservative using a state-of-the-art performance metric

GageFCEHealth.jpg

How good is your Final Control Element?

Establish the presence of high "static friction" in valves which may either slow or altogether prevent a valve from adjusting properly, highlighting the need for maintenance and possible repacking of the valve

PID Loop Recommendations Display

PlantESP will make recommendations, based on the performance analytics of a PID Loop.

PlantESP PID Loop Interaction Plot

PlantESPDNAPlot.jpg

PlantESP will also help you isolate your toughest interaction problems.  An innovative "Interaction Plot" highlights the PID Loop Frequency Spectrum within a plant area.  The darker areas represent dominant frequencies.  Commonality between PID Loops highlights possible areas of interaction, even if phase shifted in time.  For example, this display could highlight the interaction between a Coal Feed Control Loop and a Boiler Control Loop, even with a Conveyer in between.  Your toughest control problems now become easy to understand.
